The Top Twenty Ads in the UK
TV adverts are something of a hit and miss affair, sometimes they are great and sometime they are absolutely awful, but over the years there are some adverts that not only stand the test of time, they are almost mini pieces of visual art.
The advert which got the top spot from a survey of four thousand people was, the Cadbury Flake from 1991 which feature a good looking girl and a flake, you can imagine the rest.
John Sewell, of market research firm OnePoll, said: “I’m not surprised it won. The Flake commercials are iconic and definitely a little raunchy.”
“They say sex sells and this poll proves it. Some of these adverts are more than 20 years old and they are still in the minds of the public.”
A Cadbury’s spokesman said: “We’re incredibly proud of how iconic Flake advertising has become.”

11. Timotei, early 80s Blonde washes hair in alluring fashion under waterfall.
12. Renault Megane, 2004 Bottoms of various shapes and sizes jiggle to beat of Groove Armada’s I See You Baby (Shakin That Ass) in celebration of car’s oddly shaped rear end.
13. Levi Jeans, 1991 Early appearance for some geezer called Brad Pitt, who frolics with half-naked brunette after getting out of jail. T Rex’s 20th Century Boy plays in background.
14. Virgin Mobile, 2005 Christina Aguilera bounces happily on adjustable office chair. To blokes watching through window, it looks like she’s doing something else.
