Hugh Grant and Liz Hurley win damages
Taking covert photographs of celebrities is good idea sometimes, but they can also back fire on you if it goes all wrong, and for the newspapers that published the photographs it certainly did start to go all wrong.
The photographs were taken of Hugh Grant, his ex-girlfriend Liz Hurley and her husband Arun Nayar, while they were taking a holiday break on the Maldives. It was the News of the World and the Mail on Sunday who published the photographs along with various unflattering headlines.

Laura Tyler, representing Hugh Grant, Liz Hurley and Arun Nayar, said, “the trio had chosen the resort due to its privacy and were dismayed at the publication of the pictures.”
“It has been most upsetting for the claimants to have their privacy invaded by these defendants,”
“The defendants have accepted that the photographs should not have been taken and that their actions invaded the claimants’ privacy.”
The trio were awarded £58,000 ($113,000) in damages, which they plan to donate to a cancer charity.
