Princess Diana’s butler escapes charges
He would like to have been known as Diana’s “Rock” but following the inquest into her death, Paul Burrell has become known as “Slimy” and a “Liar” something that has really done his reputation no favours at all.
The police have been looking to the allegations of perjury; this follows the evidence that he gave the recent inquest of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed, where after in New York he was caught on video bragging about lying to the Judge.

It was these words that were on the video that started the ball rolling “I didn’t tell the whole truth. Perjury is not a nice thing to have to contemplate.”
“I was very naughty and I made a couple of red herrings.”
However for one reason of another he has escaped any further embarrassment of being charged with perjury.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said they had consulted Lord Justice Scott Baker, the Crown Prosecution Service and coroner, and said, “As a result we have reached the decision that there is insufficient admissible evidence to prove that an offence of perjury has occurred and therefore do not believe it to be appropriate to instigate a police investigation.”
Paul Burrell has made a fortune from selling Diana memorabilia and stories to the media, which no doubt may be coming to an end now.
